DESSERT WITH CLASS

Throughout the year, we would like to provide parents with classes on specific areas of interest. We have recently conducted a workshop related to food alergies and would like suggestions that you may have. Please share with us any ideas that you may have regarding topics that we can share with other parents and community members this year.

Food allergies are a huge concern for teachers and staff members in any school. Allergies and the medications for those allergies can cause difficulties with academics and behavior. Does any one have suggestions about when medications should be given to lessen the impact of the effects during the school day?

If the medication is to be given only once a day, I would suggest giving it in the evening so that the side effects would be lessen by morning when your child would be getting up and getting ready for school.

Our child has very bad allergies and we give him his medication at night. This way it is working through out the day and the side effects if any are not a problem for his school day.
